Baruunbüren is a small town in northern Mongolia, set within the forest-steppe landscapes of Selenge Province near the Russian border. Its history is closely tied to agriculture and rural settlement, shaped by fertile river valleys that contrast with the harsher environments often associated with Mongolia.
